As we identify students in need, our team in Afghanistan establishes relationships with them and their families, enrolling them in private schools known for providing successful education due to stable staffing and adequate infrastructure.
To find these disadvantaged children, our team scouts local food markets and main streets, identifying those in the most vulnerable conditions. These children often engage in strenuous labor or street vending. Some, like Mapaekay, face additional challenges such as physical disabilities and resort to begging on the streets.
If the match is suitable, we sponsor the child to attend a private school. We continuously monitor their progress and grades, meeting regularly with educators and parents. Students who excel remain in the program, helping more children transition from street life to focusing on their education.
Mobaligh Education Foundation also provides financial support for essential items such as clothing, ensuring students have what they need for academic success.
Our current focus is on Afghanistan, a country close to our founder’s heart, with plans to expand to other developing nations in the future. By achieving success in this region, we aim to learn how to scale effectively and extend educational opportunities to children globally.
We meet with the parents and engage in a vetting process to ensure the family is committed to the education.
If it is a fit, we then sponsor the child to attend the school. We monitor students progress and grades on an ongoing basis, meeting both with the educators as well as the parents. Intelligent kids that are performing really well will continue in the program, meaning more kids are successfully removed from the streets and enabled to concentrate on education.
Mobaligh Education Foundation will also send money to buy clothing and other items the student may need for success.
